Job duties
- Sourcing Suppliers: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for raw materials, ensuring
- Coordinating with the Sales Department in case they request modifications to the plan due to market demands, and fulfilling these requests as much as possible to avoid losing any sales opportunities.
- Receiving and analyzing the annual sales plan from the Marketing and Sales Departments and converting it into an annual production plan.
- Arranging contract manufacturing (Toll-Out) if the production plan exceeds the available manufacturing capacity for any production department.
- Arranging contract manufacturing (Toll-In) with external companies in case of surplus production capacity in a specific production department.
- Converting the sales plan into an annual production plan, from which monthly production plans are derived.
- Assessing the availability of necessary raw materials and packaging supplies to execute the production plan.
- Issuing purchase requests for raw materials and packaging supplies and ensuring they are sent to the relevant procurement departments for execution.
- Monitoring the execution of all supply orders related to exports.
- Coordinating with various laboratories upon the arrival of chemicals and packaging materials, prioritizing them accordingly.
- Tracking the execution of all transfers related to small-scale tenders.
- Following up on converting purchase requests into supply orders at appropriate times to ensure materials are available in alignment with the previously prepared production plan.
- Preparing a preliminary monthly plan for the upcoming month and generating a report on material shortages.
- Monitoring the expected delivery dates for missing materials with the respective procurement departments and making necessary adjustments to the next month’s production plan.
- Coordinating with the weighing and production units to prioritize the manufacturing of high-demand and critical pharmaceutical products.
- Coordinating with the Inspection Officer to schedule inspection dates and ensure the timely release of chemicals and finished products to sufficiently meet production and sales demands.
Qualifications, experience and skills required
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Engineering preferred with supply chain background
- +10 years of experience in production planning, demand planning, or supply chain management within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong background in production scheduling, capacity planning, and inventory management.
- Expertise in demand forecasting, capacity planning, and market trend analysis to optimize production efficiency.
- Strong understanding of GMP, FDA, EMA, and local regulatory requirements related to pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Ability to develop and manage production schedules, demand forecasts, and supply chain strategies.
