Description
PROPERTIES:
DERMATECT ointment contains the potent antifungal nystatin which exerts both fungistatic and fungicidal activities against a wide variety of yeast and yeast-like fungi including Candida genus. Zinc oxide is a mild astringent used topically as a soothing agent. Hydrocortisone is a corticosteroid with prompt anti-inflammatory and antipruritic action with an excellent safety profile. The inclusion of olive oil in the formula of DERMATECT is an advantage because of its emollient and protective properties. The complementary combination of the three agents in the ideally tolerated formulation of DERMATECT ointment renders its efficacy superior in treatment of fungal infections accompanied by inflammation.
