Description
INSECT BITE gel contains the prototype antihistaminic agent diphenhydramine HCI which competitively blocks H1-receptors sites. This prevents the effects of histamine, the principal mediator of the inflammatory response to insect stings or bites thus ensuring fast antiallergic and antipruritic effects. Zinc acetate adds astringent properties. The inclusion of alcohol in this formulation provides astringent, anaesthetic and cooling effects which help pain relief. INSECT BITE gel acts as a mechanical protective barrier to the skin thus relieving itching and pain due to insect stings or bites.
