THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS
Temporarily relieves nasal congestion due to:
– Common cold
– Hay fever
– Upper respiratory allergies
– Shrinks swollen nasal membranes so you can breath more freely
DIRECTIONS FOR USE AND DOSAGE
To be fully effective, the drops must penetrate as deeply as possible covering the area where they are needed most. To do this:
For adults and children 2 years or older:
1. Tilt head as far back as possible. Apply 2 or 3 drops into each nostril twice daily morning and evening.
2. Promptly bend head forward towards knees. Hold a few seconds then return to upright position.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
OXYMET is contraindicated in patients who have shown hypersensitivity to any of its components.
ADVERSE REACTIONS
OXYMET is generally well tolerated; side effects are usually mild and transient and include burning, stinging, sneezing or increased nasal discharge.
DRUG Interactions
As with all sympathomimetic amines, OXYMET should be used with extreme caution in patients who are receiving monoamine oxidase inhibitor therapy.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
– Ask a doctor before use if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid disease, trouble urinating due to an enlarged prostate gland.
– Do not use more than directed.
– Do not use for more than 3 days. Use only as directed. Frequent or prolonged use may cause nasal congestion to recur or worsen.
– Use of this container by more than one person may spread infection.
– Should not be used in children under 2 years of age and to be used in children from 2 to 6 years under medical suspervision.
