Description

Pharmacological action:
spectragyn vaginal suppositories contain four active ingredients which act synchronously for treatment of vaginal or vulvovaginal inflammatory conditions associated with protozoal or microbial infections. Metronidazole, the first ingredient in spectragyn, is an effective agent for the prophylaxis and treatment of vaginal protozoal infections as Trichomonas vaginalis. It also possesses bactericidal action on many anaerobic microorganisms such as Bacteroids spp., Gardnerella vaginalis, Mobiluncus spp. and Peptostreptococcus spp. Neomycin, the second ingredient in spectragyn, is an aminoglycoside antibiotic known by its highly effective bactericidal effect against a wide variety of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. Nystatin, the third ingredient in spectragyn, is an antifungal agent known by its high efficacy against many yeasts and yeast-like fungi including Candida species. Hydrocortisone, the fourth ingredient in spectragyn, is a corticosteroid with prompt antiallergic, antipruritic and anti-inflammatory actions with minimal side effects. spectragyn, in the form of vaginal suppositories, has the advantage of exerting rapid symptomatic relief of pruritus and burning sensation accompanying vaginal infections. Therefore, spectragyn provides a wide range of therapeutic effects with excellent patient compliance. In addition, spectragyn, in the form of vaginal suppositories, is highly safe as its ingredients act topically in the vagina with a little systemic absorption.

spectragyn vaginal suppositories act locally, with minimum systemic absorption.
