Vitamin B6 50 mg

Pregelatinized starch, Lactose, Maize starch, Croscarmellose sodium, Magnesium stearate

Description

PROPERTIES:
VOMIDOXINE-B6 tablets contain meclizine HCL and vitamin B6. Meclizine HCL is a piperazine derivative with the actions and uses of histamine H1-receptor antagonists including antimuscarinic and central sedative properties. It is used for its antiemetic action which may last for up to 24 hours. Vitamin B6 acts as a co-enzyme for the general metabolic pathway in the body.

pHarmacokinetics:
Meclizine has an onset of action of 30 to 60 minutes depending on dosage the duration of action 8 to 24 hours. Its half-life is 6 hours. Pyridoxine is readily absorbed from gastro-intestinal tract after oral doses and are converted to the active forms pyridoxal phosphate and pyridoxamine phosphate. They are stored mainly in the liver where there is oxidation to 4-pyridoxic acid and other inactive metabolites which are excreted in urine.
INDICATIONS:
Prevention and treatment of nausea, vomiting and dizziness.
Nausea, vomiting and dizziness associated with motion sickness.
Vertigo associated with diseases affecting the vestibular system.
DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION:
Vertigo, nausea and vomiting: 1-4 tablets daily in divided doses.
Motion sickness: 1-2 tablets should be taken one hour prior to travel. The dose may be repeated every 24 hours for the duration of the traveling.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity to meclizine HCL, glaucoma and difficulty in urination due to prostatic enlargement, asthma or other breathing disorders.
SIDE EFFECTS:
Drowsiness and dry mouth, nose and throat may occur.

DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Alcohol, sedatives and tranquilizers may increase the drowsiness effect.
PREGNANCY & LACTATION:
• It should be used in pregnancy only if it’s clearly needed (pregnancy category B) and under the supervision of a physician.
• It is not known whether meclizine passes into breast milk or not so do not use VOMIDOXINE-B6 tablets without asking doctor first.
PRECAUTIONS & warnings:
• Patients should be cautioned while driving or operating machinery since it may cause drowsiness.
• Do not give this medication to a child younger than 12 years old.
• These tablets contain lactose which are forms of sugar. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking these tablets.
Overdose:
Overdose symptoms may cause hyperexcitability alternating with extreme drowsiness.
Treatment includes appropriate supportive and symptomatic treatment.
PACKING:
A carton box containing one transparent PVC/Aluminium strip of 10 tablets with pamphlet.
STORAGE:
Keep at a temperature not exceeding 30C, in dry place.
Keep out of reach of children.
INSTRUCTIONS TO PATIENTS:
Use VOMIDOXINE-B6 tablets as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use it in larger amounts or for longer than recommended.
