Composition:
Each sachet contains:
Sodium chloride 0.52 g
Anhydrous glucose 2.7 g
Potassium chloride 0.3 g
Trisodium citrate dihydrate 0.58 g

Description

properties:
ORS sachets provides a balanced glucose-salt solution used to prevent and correct dehydration cases. Regardless of causative agent of diarrhea or vomiting or the age of the patients, oral rehydration solution containing glucose and essential salts is adequately absorbed and replaces both previous and continuing fluid and salt losses. ORS sachets contained glucose in the optimum concentration to accelerate the absorption of sodium and water from the small intestine.
Indications:
″ Prevention and treatment of dehydration due to acute diarrheal diseases.
″ Extracellular volume depletion associated with excessive diuresis.
Dosage:
The contents of one sachet are dissolved in 200 ml water.
− To get 1 liter solution, dissolve the content of 5 sachets to 1 liter of preboiled water.
− According to fluid loss, usually 200-400 ml solution after every loose motion.
− The water should be freshly boiled and cooled for infants.
− After reconstitution, any unused solution should be discarded no later than 1 hour after preparation unless stored in refrigerator when it may be kept for up to 24 hours.
Packing:
A box containing 5, 6, 10 or 12 sachets.
Storage:
Keep at a temperature (15-30c).
Keep out of reach of children
